Questions, problems, and ideas are all welcome.

Email support@bengalbot.com. If something went wrong, tell us what you were doing and what you expected to happen. A screenshot helps, and so does the app version, which is in Settings → About.

Common questions

Where is my data?

If you're signed in, your data is on your phone and in your account, so it comes back when you sign in on a new phone. If you're using Arisen without an account, it stays on your phone only. Nothing is used for advertising or sold. See the privacy policy.

Where are Settings?

Tap the gear at the top of the Home tab.

How do I get a copy of everything?

Go to Settings → My Data → Download My Data. It makes two files, your studies and notes as a document you can read and one file with everything Arisen holds for you, plus the photos in your studies. Save them to Files, email them to yourself, or send them anywhere else the share sheet offers.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. You'll be asked to confirm with your password, or with Apple or Google if you signed in that way. Your account and everything in it are then removed from the cloud and from your phone. This can't be undone, so download your data first if you want a copy.

I forgot my password.

On the sign-in screen, enter your email and tap Forgot password?. A reset link will arrive by email. If you don't see it, check your spam folder.

I got a new phone. How do I get my studies back?

Install Arisen and sign in the same way you did before (Apple, Google, or email). Your highlights, notes, studies, reading plans, and history come back on their own.

I was reading without an account. Can I keep what I have?

Yes. Sign in from Settings and what's on your phone moves into your new account.

The audio won't play.

Audio is downloaded one book at a time the first time you play it, so you need an internet connection for that first play. After that it works offline. You can see and manage downloads under Settings → Audio Downloads.

Siri doesn't understand me.

Open the app once after installing so the phrases register. Then try "Continue reading in Arisen", "Turn to John 3 in Arisen", or "What's my memory verse in Arisen". You can see every phrase in the Shortcuts app under Arisen.

I'm not getting reminders.

Turn them on in Settings → Notifications, and make sure notifications for Arisen are allowed in the iPhone Settings app.

A photo in my study is missing.

Photos stay on the phone they were added on; they aren't uploaded to your account. On another phone, the study shows where the photo was without the photo itself. To move photos to a new phone, restore it from an iCloud backup of the old one, or use Download My Data on the old phone to save a copy.
